Floating World Furniture Collection

This collection was inspired by the the work of Frank LLoyd Wright, Gustav Stickley, and the Arts and Crafts movement. We wanted to reproduce the strength and integrity the of Arts and Crafts style, with a twist. Starting with the table, we raised the top to make it look as if it were floating. For contrast, we added ebony slats, a center gap in the top, and butterfly-shaped ebony dovetails. What started out as a thoroughly Western piece suddenly took on a distinctly Japanese flavor. Frank Lloyd Wright was an impassioned collector of Japanese prints called ukiyo-e, meaning "pictures of the floating world", hence the Floating World Collection.

Classic Collection

Classic Furniture Collection

Nothing can rival American Shaker design for its clean, spare lines. Our Classic series pays homage to this fine tradition. Unlike the Shakers, however, we delight in idle pleasures and treasure our creature comforts. So to lend our collection a little warmth and spirit, we have added delicate contours and tapered the arms and legs. An ebony inlay runs along the top of the nightstand, the dressers, and the writing desk. The point of simplicity, of course, is to let the natural beauty of the wood take center stage, and it does. Along with spectacular grain patterns, our furniture is endowed with an ultra-smooth finish and perfectly dovetailed joints, and can be made in any combination of woods that you fancy. Stylistically, the contours combine into a unified whole that simply works.
