Wood Lamp Shades

Lamp Shades for Table Lamps

Wood Lamp Shades

The wood shades shown on the left are made of Ash. They all are illuminated so that the translucency of the wood can be seen. Where the individual slats of wood overlap less light passes through giving a darker shadowed effect.

Each shade has its own characteristics and these variables are what affect their look:
1) The thickness of the wood.
2) The color or tone of the wood as varies from tree to tree.
3) The difference in grain pattern from tree to tree.
4) The intensity of light behind the wood.
5) The amount of time the wood has been exposed to natural elements, which ages and enriches the tone of the wood.

Each shade is signed and dated by the designer John Lang, with the year the wood shades were first conceived and created, which was 1990.

Many interior designers that I have worked with have been amazed with the versatility of the wooden shade. They comment on the large variety of interiors and lamp styles that the shades work with.

Wood lamp shades for table lamps...unique...adds that touch of warmth to any room.

Care for the shades
The wood shades are finished with a clear, non-toxic, water based finish. They may be cleaned with a feather duster or by using the soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, just as most conventional shades are cleaned. If needed they may be wiped with a damp cloth to remove other types of spots or dirt. All shades are packed carefully to insure safe arrival.

Currently, I am not taking any orders for custom shades.
